In an interview conducted by the H-Metro, Mhembere stated that she was unapologetic about her fashion statement and was simply acting in accordance with her freedom of choice.
”Being misunderstood is something anyone who is creative goes through so this is not really surprising to me. I always want to do a unique piece which provokes people’s minds to move from a regular way of seeing fashion to an extra-ordinary idealism to what fashion is.” she said.
The ambitious model went on to say that, what she did at the Changamire awards was only the beginning and her audience had only to get used to it. The 19-year-old model also went on to state that she aspired to be an ambassador for freedom for women.
” Yes I know cultures differ, that dress is heroic and Zimbabweans must get used to it because I got more of those designs since its freedom that I want and what women want,” said Mhembere.iHarare
