Chimurenga Music maestro Thomas Mapfumo who has a reputation for speaking his mind has directed his sharp tongue at Zimdancehall artists. Mukanya, as Mapfumo is popularly known, said that it was not rewarding for local artists to pursue dancehall music unless they are able to use Jamaican Patois.

Critics of Mukanya have accused him of running his mouth on a number of occasions.
He received criticism last month after he seemed to have taken a dig at Sungura Maestro Alick Macheso although he took back his words later on.
